See below for who the first panel members are…

Jamie Broderick
Former Head of UBS Wealth Management

Jamie Broderick retired at the end of 2017 as head of UBS’s wealth management business in the UK.  He now leads the work stream on scale and increasing deal flow for the Social Impact Implementation Taskforce, commissioned by the Prime Minister in March of 2018 and led by Elizabeth Corley of Allianz Global Investors.  Previously, he had been Head of Europe at JPMorgan Asset Management, also based in London.

When asked to comment on his involvement as part of the Impact Awards 2018 judging panel he says: “The Social Investment Academy has been a pioneer in supporting financial advisors in social impact investing, and is now the most significant event on that topic in the UK today.  The new Impact Awards are a recognition of the outstanding work being done today by advisors and firms in this area, and I feel genuinely privileged to have been invited to review their achievements in promoting social impact investing.”

Russell Facer
Managing Director at threesixty Services LLP

Russell has been with threesixty since its launch in 2003, and has seen the business grow year on year. threesixty now supports over 850 directly regulated firms and discretionary fund managers. Outside of threesixty Russell is a former chairman of the Association of Professional Compliance Consultants and the Personal Finance Society’s Leaders Summit Group. Both of which he remains actively involved with.

When asked to comment on his involvement as part of the Impact Awards 2018 judging panel he says: “threesixty are keen to support best practice within its’ client firms and the wider industry.  Firms striving for excellence should be supported and recognised. The awards are a good opportunity to be challenged against peers and to continue to push forwards the industry.”

Aine Kelly
Independent Impact Consultant working with the Bridges+ team at the Impact Management Project.

Aine was previously Head of Financial Sector and Investor Engagement at Big Society Capital after four years at Barclays Wealth as a private banker working with High Net Worth and Key Clients. She has also worked in Investment Banking, at Kleinwort Benson, J. P. Morgan and Citigroup. Aine holds an MSc in Finance, an MA in Business Studies and MCSI membership. She was a board member of the Triodos New Horizon Ltd Social Impact Bond and is currently a member of QBE’s Classification of Social Investment committee.

When asked to comment on her involvement as part of the Impact Awards 2018 judging panel she says: “Understanding and managing the impact, by which I mean the effects, both positive and negative, that businesses can have on people and the planet, has never been so important. Gavin and the SIA were early movers in providing their stakeholders with tools to ask the right questions and to encourage investment providers to build impact into their products. In my work with BSC and the Impact Management Project my own goals have been aligned with the SIA and I am delighted to support this new initiative as the SIA continues to play a key role in encouraging capital to drive change.”

Abigail Rotheroe
Head of Impact at Project Snowball LLP

As Head of Impact, Abigail is responsible for Project Snowball’s approach to managing impact. Previously, Abi led the impact investment work at NPC, a charity think-tank and consultancy. She has over 15 years’ experience as an investment analyst and fund manager, is a CFA charterholder, holds an MSc in Charity Accounting and Financial Management from Cass Business School and the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting. She was a Director of Threadneedle Investment Management and has also worked as an independent consultant for an actuary.

When asked to comment on her involvement as part of the Impact Awards 2018 judging panel she says: “The Impact Awards offer an inspiring opportunity to move the impact investing sector forward through recognising and supporting best practice. I am honoured to be part of the independent panel and look forward to reviewing those applications exemplifying such pioneering practices within the retail financial services sector.”

Evita Zanuso
Senior Director, Financial Sector and Investor Engagement at Big Society Capital

Evita leads on BSC’s engagement with investors and financial institutions. Her role is to help investors navigate the world of impact investing especially into mission led organisations in the “Contribute to Solutions” end of the impact investing spectrum. She sits on British Venture Capital Association’s Impact Investment Advisory Committee and on the Steering Committee of Pensions for Purpose. Before BSC, she worked in financial services in senior business development roles at SEI Investment and Insight Investment.

When asked to comment on her involvement as part of the Impact Awards 2018 judging panel she says: “I am delighted Worthstone has launched the SIA: Impact Awards and even more excited to be part of the inaugural judging panel. There are very few (if any) truly independent awards in the financial adviser sector. The SIA Impact Awards will recognise the outstanding firms that are enabling more investors to make investments that reflect their values. More importantly, the awards will showcase those who are exemplars when it comes to impact and encourage more fund managers and advisers to do the same catalysing much more needed capital for social impact.”

Applications for each category are open – the closing date for submissions is midnight on the 30th September 2018.
